2012-14 Managing Director CITINICHE, Australia's first crowd sourced, design & development website. Partnering with Harvest Digital Planning and Etch Design Rijavec developed an IT platform for crowd sourced design and property development. Using technology to create better urban design outcomes Citiniche crowd sources brief information for inner urban housing projects through an interactive online platform. 1987-2014 Rijavec Architects:Completed numerous inner urban projects comprising high and medium density residential and commercial developments. The largest, Prima, a 66 storey Southbank tower was successfully appealed despite exceeding height limits by 86 metres. The permit was granted for its exemplary design.'Tribunal backs 225-metre tower - National - …"Numerous other architectural and urban design projects completed over this period received design excellence awards and featured in design journals, many on covers.

2011 BOYD's ERROR: PLANNING's CURSE: An essay and exhibition critical of outdated conceptions of Australian Urbanism and the neighbourhood character provisions of planning regulation that foster them. AGE quote:"An excellent exhibition that explores the misconceptions that surround Boyd's legacy. The exhibition recreates the block in Fitzroy bordered by Johnston, Smith, Gertrude and Brunswick Streets. On three registers it gazes into the future, the present and the past."

2010-2011 Inspired & Co-Directed Australia's Venice Architecture Biennale exhibi-tion,"NOW+WHEN Australian Architecture and Urbanism". The exhibition conceived as a fully immersive 3D stereoscopic experience involving an extended creative team comprising visualisation specialists, seventeen architectural consortia and AIA operatives. This highly acclaimed exhibition constituted a time capsule of Australian Urbanism in 2010, documenting major Australian urban and outback contexts NOW, and seventeen visions of Australian urban futures WHEN. It surpassed expectations, touring internationally until 2012. 2009 FREMANTLE WA:Urban design consultant to Landcorp on "The Knutsford Project", a major mixed use urban development located on a forty hectare inner urban site located on Fremantle CBD's edge. Rijavec lead design workshops in Fremantle advising on strategies to achieve exemplary design outcomes.

2000-2004 NKYA - "The Artist": Initiated a high density housing development capitalised at $80m on a central Fitzroy urban block. As development manager, Rijavec negotiated site acquisition, secured financial backing and directed the architectural and urban design. He successfully appealed Yarra Council's refusal at VCAT securing a landmark approval granted on the basis of his urban character assessment and NKYA's exemplary design. The 2004 downturn precipitated Rijavec's withdrawal from the project until 2009 when the PDG and Schiavello development consortium resumed it completing the project in 2011. http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/02/28/1046407750929.html

2004 CHINA:Participated in the Victorian Government trade mission to China visiting Shanghai, Nanjing, Xian, Tianjin and Beijing consulting with government officials, aca-demics and professionals.

1993-95 SINGAPORE & INDONESIA: Urban design and architectural commissions in Singapore including a mixed use high rise office and hotel tower in Orchard Road and two high and medium density condominium developments at St.Thomas Walk and Loyang Besar. Designed resort facilities comprising a hotel in Manado, recreational facilities and a high density residential development at Bukit Timah in Indonesia.

1991 CAULFIELD TOWN HALL: Competition winner for redevelopment of the Caulfield Town Hall comprising a new western wing. This involved substantial renovations to the existing heritage building and the construction of new administrative offices, a cinema, art gallery and library.

1986 VICTORIAN PWD: Senior designer Victorian Public Works Department. Completed designs for the Whittlesea & Melton Tafe colleges, developed the Victoria Police Accommodation Standards, designed the Knox Police Regional Headquarters, conducted post occupancy evaluations at the Broadmeadows Regional Headquarters and developed a brief for the Victoria Police Headquarters, Docklands.

1981-85 BSM; Contractor, senior designer and associate director at Bates Smart & McCutcheon. Rijavec played significant roles on several major projects including 85 Spring Street tower, RMIT department of Architecture building 9 fit out and Price Waterhouse Headquarters, CBD Melbourne. "BATES SMART: 150 Years of Australian Architecture" by Philip Goad, credits him for the design of the Melbourne Coronial Ser-vices Centre comprising a mortuary, forensic laboratories, coronial courts, associated police facilities and a coronial museum in South Melbourne.

1971-1976 UK & SWEDEN:In London at Fredrick McManus & Partners, Rijavec assisted on Gospel Oaks 7 & 8, high density housing developments in North London. At Tjurfjell Arkitekter in Sweden he assisted on the design of two large medium density housing projects, Ormslan and Gravlingen, and on Umea theatre, Norbottens, Sweden.
